Where cars appear to drive uphill without power.

Against the flow Imagine parking your car on a hill and then taking the hand break off. What happens next? Well of course the car rolls down hill! That’s what logic says must happen but remarkably there are at least several occasions where the opposite is the case. That’s right! The car rolls uphill seemingly in defiance of all known laws of gravity Mount Pendeli One of these amazing locations is Mount Pendeli overlooking the Greek capital Athens. According to some locals there are places on the mountain where negative gravity allows a car ( with engine switched off ) to do the seemingly impossible and move upwards against the slope of an appreciably steep mountain. Magnetic Hill, New Brunswick Canada. Another similar location can be found in Canada. At Magnetic Hill New Brunswick cars are reported to go uphill without power against the laws of gravity. A notice once (see photo at right ) displayed at the spot offered the following advice. “ To appreciate this phenomenon proceed to spot indicated by white post, turn off motor, release brakes.” Optical illusion? References to the supposedly strange characteristics of Magentic Hill can be found in numerous books. However some recent visitors to the location believe the story is more of an optical illusion. One of these is Canadian James Cameron. After seeing this very feature he wrote to us with the following opinion: “I live near this area described in NB Canada as being unreal. The reality is that you are actually going downhill. If you only look at the road it seems like going uphill but if you look at the surrounding land you will know that you are actually going downhill. I have tried the hill quite a few times & looked at houses & trees alongside the road & only then do you really know that it is in fact an optical illusion.” Magentic Hill. Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Another area with a reputedly Magnetic Hill is the City of Burlington in Ontario, Canada, just a forty five minute drive from the famous Niagara Falls. There are those who insist that the strange powers attributed to Magnetic Hill in Brunswick are not constant - that perhaps they operate according to the fluctuating forces of the Earth’s magnetic field. On Mount Pendeli for instance the whole phenomenon was recorded by a local camera crew and screened in a local documentary. Antigravity device. The phenomenon on Magnetic Hill along with Pendeli in Greece have also been likened to a vast antigravity device. Although the exact explanation is hard to determine there are some who insist there is an energy at these points which reverses the normal pull of gravitation. People who visit these spots sometimes speak of feeling dizzy, or disorientated. Whatever the answer it shows there are still a great many thing we don’t understand.
